Los Angeles, CA & Bengaluru, India — August 30, 2025 — Vivekananda Yoga University (VaYU), USA, the first yoga university outside India and a candidate for accreditation by the WASC Senior College and University Commission (WSCUC), today announced the signing of a strategic Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Apollo AyurVAID, India’s largest NABH-accredited Ayurveda hospital network and part of the Apollo Hospitals Group.
The partnership unites VaYU’s academic and research leadership in yoga, wellness, and sustainable living with Apollo AyurVAID’s clinical excellence in Precision Ayurveda and integrative medicine. Together, the institutions aim to re-contextualize India’s traditional knowledge systems for modern healthcare, addressing the growing burden of non-communicable diseases (NCDs) in both the United States and India.
“This collaboration bridges the best of two worlds — U.S.-accredited academic rigor and India’s gold-standard clinical Ayurveda — to create a globally scalable model for integrative health,” said Dr. Sree N. Sreenath, President of VaYU. “Our joint programs will set new benchmarks for evidence-based education, research, and patient care.”
Key Collaboration Areas Include:
• Joint Programs & Research – Multi-center clinical trials and integrative care protocols combining allopathy, Ayurveda, and yoga.
• Curriculum & Training – Accredited degree and certificate programs in integrative medicine; yoga therapy training for Apollo AyurVAID clinicians.
• Clinical Immersion – U.S. graduate students gaining hands-on experience in Apollo AyurVAID’s hospitals and clinics.
• Global Outreach – Co-branded initiatives, seminars, and public health campaigns. • U.S. Integrative Clinics – Exploration of joint inpatient/outpatient centers in the United States.
Strategic Impact:
• For VaYU: Direct access to India’s largest precision Ayurveda network for research, clinical integration, and student training.
• For Apollo AyurVAID: Academic validation, global program delivery, and integration of yoga therapy into clinical protocols.
• For Both: A replicable, evidence-backed model for integrative health education and care with global reach.
Flagship Initiatives (2025–2028) include launching an Integrative Chronic Care Center in Silicon Valley, a Global Fellowship in Integrative Medicine for physicians, a Joint Research Fund targeting NIH and WHO grants, and a digital learning platform offering CME, MOOCs, and micro-credentials.
“Apollo AyurVAID has always championed safe, scientific, and patient-centered Ayurveda,” said Rajiv Vasudevan, MD & CEO of Apollo AyurVAID. “By partnering with VaYU, we can extend this excellence into accredited academic programs and collaborative research that meet the highest international standards.”
The MoU signing marks the start of a 60-day rollout plan, including pilot programs in integrative oncology and graduate yoga education for Ayurveda physicians.
