Dr. David Frawley (Vamadeva Shastri) is world renowned Vedic teacher (Vedacharya) and author of fifty published books on Yoga, Ayurveda and Vedic studies translated into twenty languages.

Vamadeva Ji has been one of the main teachers bringing Yoga and Ayurveda to the West, helping to found Yoga and Ayurveda programs, schools and associations in North and South America, Europe, the Middle East and Asia. His work is highly respected in India where he received a prestigious Padma Bhushan award from the government of India (2015), a National Eminence Award from the South India Educational Society (SIES) and D.Litt. (doctor of letters award) from SVYASA and Ram Manohar Lohia University.

He is known for his in-depth study of Vedic and Yogic texts from Rigveda to Yoga Sutras. He has been associated with the Sri Aurobindo Ashram, Sri Ramanashram, BAPS Swaminarayan, Chinmaya Mission and Arshavidya. He has done programs with the ministry of Ayush.
He is director of the American Institute of Vedic Studies (www.vedanet.com), which offers courses in Vedic knowledge systems of Yoga, Vedanta, Ayurveda and Jyotish. He emphasizes their global relevance for the future of humanity.
