For the last 30 years, I have been interested in understanding the expression, regulation, and mechanism of action, of enzymes involved in lipid and lipoprotein metabolism, and their role in the development of chronic inflammatory diseases. My research programs are primarily funded by the National Institute of Health, and I have published more than 250 peer-reviewed publications in the cell and molecular biology of oxidized phospholipids, lipoprotein metabolism and models of chronic inflammatory diseases including atherosclerosis, sepsis, pulmonary hypertension, rheumatoid arthritis, cancer, and inflammatory bowel disease (h-index 81). One of my current research interests is to combine Yoga with scientific research and develop a modern platform for evidence-based Yoga therapy and create public health awareness.
