    Review the Prerequisites for the course or program in which you wish to enroll. If you fulfill all the prerequisites, you may proceed to the next step, or if you have a question, please contact VaYU at academics@vayuusa.org.

  • Apply Now

    Click below if you fulfill all the prerequisites of the course or the program; we will inform you once your application is approved. At this point, your VaYU ID will be activated.

  • Enroll in the Courses*

    After all the above steps are complete, you may go to your desired course page, add it to your checkout cart, and pay for it. Once your payment is successfully processed, you will be enrolled in the course. Do not purchase a course before your application to join a program has been approved. If you purchase a course before your application is approved and you are denied admission for some reason, or if you want to withdraw from a course after purchasing it, there will be a $50 fee to process a refund of the course fees. If you purchase a course, but you change your mind later and wish to enroll in a different course, you will incur a $25 administrative fee for the course change.

  • Unofficial transcripts/marks card and degree certificate scan from your 4-year Bachelor’s degree or the highest degree obtained. Unofficial documents are enough to make the admission decision, however, you need to have your university send it officially to VaYU before being admitted to the program
  • Statement of purpose; and
  • One reference (either academic or professional) mailed directly from your Recommender to apply@vayuusa.org
  • If you are a foreign student you have to in addition send us
  • TOEFL scores if the medium of instruction of your 4-year degree or the highest degree was not English.
  • If your transcripts/marks card and degree certificate are not in English, we will require an evaluation of the International Student’s Transcripts and Degree Certificate from a foreign degree evaluator who is a member of National Association of Credential Evaluation Services (NACES) www.naces.org. Ensure that the details are sent from the evaluation services agency directly to VaYU at apply@vayuusa.org. These evaluation services agencies serve education institutions, professional organizations, regulatory and legal entities, employers, and individuals who need accurate assessments. We recommend you to use Spantran (www.spantran.com) as we have had good experience with them and you do not need to send your originals but scanned electronic copies. We do not have any business association with Spantran, other than being a satisfied customer. We have also found them to be relatively not very expensive.

What is the Application Fee?

There is no application fee.

What is the Application Processing Time?

Once your online application is complete (all materials are uploaded and your references submitted), we take 72 hours to give you our decision.

Is Financial Aid available?

VaYU offers a very limited, extremely competetive, need-based 'Work Study' program.

How can I pay my Tuition Fees?

VaYU accepts tuition fee payment via ACH/ eCheck without any charges. For all Credit Card payments 3% Transaction fees will be charged (AmEx, Mastercard, and Visa).

What is your policy of refunds if I register a course and want to withdraw?

Any student wishing to cancel or withdraw from the school and receive a refund should send their notice of cancellation or withdrawal in writing to the Director of Admissions at the University Administration Office. Students can cancel enrollment agreement and obtain a refund of charges paid through attendance at the first class session, or the seventh day after (whichever is later).

If the student has received federal student financial aid funds, the student is entitled to a refund of moneys not paid from said federal student financial aid program funds. A notice of cancellation must be in writing and can be sent by mail or email.

Students can withdraw by sending a written notice, or because of the student’s conduct, including (but not necessarily limited to): a student’s lack of attendance, or violation of federal or state law.

VaYU shall refund 100% of the amount paid for institutional charges, less a reasonable deposit or application fee not to exceed two hundred fifty dollars ($250), if notice of cancellation is made through attendance at the first class session, or the seventh class day after enrollment, whichever is later.

A student may appeal his/her withdraw/termination in writing within three business days of the notice of withdraw as provided by the institution to the physical or email address provided by the student upon enrollment. Such appeals will be answered to the same physical or email address within three business days of receipt of the student’s written appeal.

The refund policy for VaYU students who have completed 60 percent or less of the period of attendance shall be a pro rata refund. Students who have completed greater than 60 percent of the contracted period of enrollment as indicated on the student application, shall receive no refund of tuition or of institutional charges incurred.

Prepaid institutional charges, such as homestay or airport pickup/returns, that have not been incurred by the institution at the time of termination shall be refunded in full. VaYU offers instruction as a distance education, and it is not offered in real time. The student shall have the right to cancel the enrollment agreement and receive a full refund before the first lesson and materials are received by the student.

Cancellation is effective on the date written notice of cancellation is sent. VaYU shall make the refund pursuant to section 71750 of the Regulations. If VaYU has sent the first lesson and materials before an effective cancellation notice was received, the institution shall make a refund within 45 days after the student's return of the materials. California BPPE requirements for refund policies and calculations as stated in this addendum will be followed. It should be noted, however, that both refund policies shall be applied in the calculation of a student refund and that the refund calculation that results in the greatest refund for the student shall be applied. All refunds will be made within 45 days of a student’s cancellation or withdrawal. Notice to Prospective Degree Program Students

This institution is provisionally approved by the Bureau for Private Postsecondary Education, State of California to offer degree programs. To continue to offer this degree program, this institution must meet the following requirements:

  • Become institutionally accredited by an accrediting agency recognized by the United States Department of Education, with the scope of the accreditation covering at least one-degree program.
  • Achieve accreditation candidacy or pre-accreditation, as defined in regulations, by (date two years from date of provisional approval), and full accreditation by (date five years from date of provisional approval).

If this institution stops pursuing accreditation, it must:

  • Stop all enrollment in its degree programs, and
  • Provide a teach-out to finish the educational program or provide a refund.

An institution that fails to comply with accreditation requirements by the required dates shall have its approval to offer degree programs automatically suspended.

*Non-Discrimination Policy

Vivekananda Yoga University (VaYU) considers students, employees and applicants for admission or employment, and those seeking access to programs, on the basis of individual merit. The University, does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national or ethnic origin, age, disability, veteran status, or other protected classes under the law. In addition, the VaYU expects all students, faculty, staff, vendors and associates to comply with the policy of non-discrimination.

*Sexual Harassment Policy

VaYU maintains an environment free of sexual harassment and will not tolerate any form of harassment of its employees, faculty or students. Retaliation against persons raising concerns about discrimination, sexual harassment or harassment of any kind is prohibited and will constitute separate grounds for disciplinary action up to and including discharge or expulsion from the university. Any violation should be immediately reported to the Office of the Grievance Procedures at grievance@vayuusa.org.

*ADA Accommodations

Americans with Disabilities Act Accommodations for Faculty and Staff

VaYu's affirmative Action and non-discrimination policies are very strong and encourage the employment and advancement in employment of qualified persons with a disability. Employees may disclose the nature of the disability to the Office for Human Resources to request reasonable accommodations. The request for accommodations will be reviewed so that the university may provide reasonable accommodations to assist the employee in performing the essential functions of the position.

Submission of disability information is strictly voluntary. In addition, if there is a disability which affects the employee's performance or might create a hazard to the employee or others, then additional information will be helpful such as:

  • The skills and procedures the employee uses or intends to use to perform the job, and
  • The accommodations that the university may make which would help the employee perform the job properly and safely.

The Office for Human Resources assists faculty and staff members in requesting reasonable accommodations.
